Barnsley Cemetery, through the ruined chapels, looking west. Taken about 3-30 in the afternoon. The sky turned for just a few minutes and I managed to get a few shots like this.

A sport very close to my heart. As a long time fan of the Sheffield Steelers, I suppose it's only fitting that I include a photo of one of the players on here. As a fast moving, indoor sport, photo's aren't easy to get. The lighting is not easy to work with and the closeness and speed of the players, means panning is a neccessity. But I do manage to get some decent shots, so thought I'd share one.

Rather than just changing this to a black and white picture, I first added contrast and saturation, then created the montotone image by changing levels and curves. Gave me more control over the clouds and sky for a bit more depth.

Sky achieved with the help of a ND gradient filter. Silhouette photo of a Welsh mountain.

Bleach bypass used to burn out some highlights and give a lot more contrast to the pic. Slight 's' curve and sharpened rather excessively to give a grainy effect.

Entered this photo into a local competition and was very pleased with a third prize for it.

Taken at The Butterfly House near Aston, South Yorkshire. Making use of a x2 close up filter. Wasn't easy, as the butterflies tended to not want to stay still ofr very long.

Barn owl, in flight.

Almost silent, and ready for the kill. Snapped this at a demonstration.

Teaching my son some photography techniques and snapped this as he concentrated.

Roche Abbey. Local ruins for me as I can visit these in less than 15 minutes. This picture was taken from the edge of the grounds.

Another photo of Whitby Abbey. Taken from low down using the 8mm fisheye. Contrast upped and then colourised to a deep sepia. Finally given a half tone texture.
Entered this photo into a local competition and was very pleased with a First Prize for it.

A day at Scampton. Red Arrows going through some of their routines prior to the show season starting. Enjoyed watching the fly-by's and took loads of photos. Used a polariser to get a deep sky and to increase the contrast of the jets.
St. James' church at Wentworth Castle. Taken with an 8mm fisheye lens. I was stood about 6 feet away from the wall when taking this, and managed to get most of the building in.
The title picture is of the Humber Bridge. Polariser filter used to get more colour and contrast into the sky and the river. Taken towards the sun, making everything else in the picture stand out.

Whitby Abbey.

Exposed for the sun coming through the upper window. This created the silhouette effect of the ruin and also helped to give a more dramatic look to the sky. Darkened slightly post camera to give a bit more depth and contrast.
